Map Merchandising Effort, Not Just Store Counts
A long store list is not a strategy. Rank where facing work actually returns.
Counting doors feels productive. Prioritizing them is harder — and more useful. Cluster stores by fixture type, traffic, and whether secondary displays are allowed before you print kits.
Effort mapping tells you which visits deserve a full reset and which need a light facing check. That protects budget without pretending every banner is equal.
Share the ranked map with sales. When everyone sees the same priority list, arguments about “why that store” get shorter.
Refresh the map after major retailer renovations or assortment resets.
